Alan J. FletcherBiography:
Alan has been in the flooring business for over 30 years and has extensive knowledge about the flooring business. Alan is a third generation flooring professional with unparalleled knowledge and insight of the flooring industry.
By age eleven, he was helping out in his fathers carpet showroom organizing and categorizing the different styles of carpet and padding samples. By age 18 it was natural to pursue a career in the flooring industry. He apprenticed with three master craftsmen in Milwaukie, Oregon, and was trained to install all types of vinyl flooring, carpet, ceramic tile and hardwood floors. He attended the Bruce Hardwood Flooring School in 1978.
From 1982, Alan has owned and operated a floor covering contracting business and has experience working in seven states including Oregon, Washington, Texas, Florida, Arkansas, Missouri, and Tennessee. His knowledge and experience comes from sales and installation of practically every type of flooring in thousands of custom homes, apartments and commercial applications.
Alan is the author of Landlord Floors-carpet and vinyl management for rentals. The California Apartment Association has used his books in their property management training classes. Alan also authored The Landlord Flooring Management Course, a comprehensive 220-page training manual designed for the professional property manager, REIT, and property owners who want to maximize their savings on flooring replacement and repair costs.
